NC General Statutes require the Utilities Commission to review electric utilities’ plans for providing for the State’s long-range needs for reliable electric power. (See N.C.G.S. §§ 62-110.1 and 62-2(a)(3a).) To meet these requirements, the Commission annually investigates the electric utilities’ integrated resource plans. Duke Energy Progress, Duke Energy Carolinas, and Dominion Energy North Carolina filed the required plans, including their plans for complying with North Carolina’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Portfolio Standard.
The purpose of this hearing is to take non-expert public witness testimony regarding the utilities’ filed plans.
