On January 27, 2021, Frontier Natural Gas Company (Frontier) and Ullico Infrastructure Hearthstone Holdco, LLC (Ullico) filed an application for approval of a transaction whereby Hearthstone Utilities Inc. and its subsidiaries, including Frontier, would become wholly owned subsidiaries of Ullico.
The Commission has scheduled a hearing for 1:30 p.m., on June 22, 2021, in order to receive the testimony of public witnesses. The hearing will be held remotely via Webex, and members of the public may testify via telephone. People who would like to testify must register in advance, no later than 5:00 p.m. on June 14, 2021, by contacting the Public Staff of the North Carolina Utilities Commission either via email at FrontierPublicHearing@psncuc.nc.gov or by calling 919-733-6110. When registering, provide your name, the docket number (G-40 Sub 160), the number of the telephone you will use to participate in the hearing, and the topic of your testimony. The Commission may cancel the public witness hearing if no substantial written statements regarding the application are received on or before June 14, 2021, and if no substantial registrations to provide testimony are received by 5:00 p.m. on June 14, 2021. Written statements may be sent to the Commission via email. Or, you can mail statements to the address below. Be sure to include the docket number in your communications. Statements will be made part of the official record in this proceeding and will be available on this website under Docket No. G-40 Sub 160 within several business days.
The Commission has also scheduled an expert witness hearing for June 23, 2021, starting at 10:00 a.m. During this hearing the Commission will hear testimony of the applicants as well as the Public Staff and other intervenors. (The Public Staff is an independent agency that investigates public utility matters and advocates before the Commission on behalf of customers.)
